Sauteed Jerusalem Artichokes


I was so excited when I saw these in my local produce store! Jerusalem artichokes also known as a Sunchoke have such a wonderful nutty flavor!! They are so easy to cook with, and somehow they manage to make any ordinary dish extraordinary!

What You Will Need:

1 Pound Jerusalem Artichokes, peeled, and sliced thin

1 Tbsp Butter

2 Cloves Garlic, sliced thin

1/4 Cup Chives, chopped

Salt and Pepper to taste


Prep Your Mis en Place and pour the wine because it’s COOKING TIME 🙂 (In the back ground Get Lucky by Pharrell Williams is playing.)


Heat a medium-sized pan to medium high heat.

Add the butter, garlic and a pinch of salt.

Cook the garlic until it releases its yummy aroma (about 3 minutes.)


Add the Jerusalem Artichokes and saute’ for about 10 minutes or until soft with a hint of golden brown color.


Once they are soft, mix in the chives, and salt and pepper to taste.

Makes 4 Servings: 147 cals, 3.6 G fat, 26.6 G carbs, 2.4 G fiber, 3.6 G pro, 14.4 G sugar

Extra: You can also slice the artichoke thin and use it raw in a salad. They also make excellent chips if you bake them. As long as my store has these in stock, I will be having so much fun with them in the kitchen. I look forward to posting more recipes they help me create!
