Mission Figs with Honey Riccota

What You Will Need:

8 Mission Figs, quartered

1/2 C part skim Ricotta Cheese

1 whole egg, beaten

3 Tbsp Honey (Use a honey that is local to you. Local honey does wonders for your allergies.)

Pastry squares * If you can, make your own pastry but today I was in a time crunch so I used Melissa’s pastry wrappers, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Set up your Mis en Place (Still fancy over here)

Pre heat your oven to 350.

In a glass bowl, combine the ricotta with the honey and stir well.

Using a muffin tin, lay the sheets of pastry over the center and gently push down. Spoon in the ricotta mixture, about 2 tsp and add a piece or 2 of the fig.

Gently pinch together the pastry and twist.

With a brush, paint on a light layer of the beaten egg to the top of the closed pastry.

Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes or until they turn golden brown.

Once they are done cooking, drizzle with honey.
